This is taking forever. Last night when I turned my computer off I agreed to update as well and this morning when I turn it back on it gives this message and has been doing this for 6 hours. Do I literally just fucking wait this bullshit out or what? I'm very pissed right now any advice would be nice.
I have seen this happen before and I think it happens when your still on windows 8 and not 8.1. I think what you have to do is install certain updates before the others. I used to have the specific order written down somewhere but god knows where that went. I can look around a bit more tomorrow if this is in fact your problem you might be able to find it on google though
Ok so after a bit of searching I found what I used to fix it. What you have to do is only install ten updates at a time. It should continue to succeed in these small batches of updates. It could potentially fail but then you should just try installing the failing update on its own. If it continually fails try installing .NET framework updates first then install windows security updates and then install windows updates. I hope this helped
@almightykingofgeeks He's asking to see if he can speed up the process of the updates, he's stuck in the loop and wants to get out of it without corrupting the windows install.
Unfortunately I don't know what to tell you but wait it out until it's done, or you could just power it off yourself and repair from a windows image via USB and start over the updates like @almightykingofgeeks said.
Test your Hard drive! This loop is common with failed drives. If you keep doing it, you might be killing any data left, that is if the HD is bad.
