Just upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 8 and I have run into a world of problems.
Many programs including Steam, Chrome and pretty much everything else looks blurry.
The system is slow to start up.
I can't enable the aftermarket security software that my University requires.
A little CMD box pops up every once and a while and disappears before I can look at it.
The biggest issue of them all is that Start Is Back is gone. I try and re enable it and it doesn't work. I am left with the shitty Windows 8.1 start that just takes me to the start screen.
I could really use some help. I need my start menu back and what the hell is the point of having a high quality HD display when everything looks like shit?
I couldn't reinstate the display driver. I tried to do so but it got half way through then said "This display driver is not validated for this computer. The installer will now exit." and so it did.
I got rid of the blurriness by going into resolution and selecting let me choose scaling for all my displays and then made the text smaller. It worked and the screen is sharp again but now everything is really small.
EDIT: BTW this is all on my laptop. Asus Q550LF, Intel i7- 4500U, 8GM RAM, 1TB HDD, nVidia GT 745M
I haven't had a problem reinstalling the nVidia drivers they appear to be working fine. It is the Intel 4400 drivers which the computer uses most of the time that do not seem to be working.
Those are the drivers though that I was able to reinstall.
