Hi, I just installed windows 8.1 on my new rig. But it feels sluggish and like it is almost microstddering. I got the Intel 4.0 ghz cpu, Asus z97 mobo and 780 ti gpu. 16gb of ram and ssd. I cant imagine that the hardware is slowing anything down. Any ideas?

Make sure you install all the motherboard drivers for that specific model. They have a page with drivers for each model.
If you have tweaked any BIOS settings it could be worthwhile to load the default values. Or check so that it's not just running in maximum power saving mode. (loading default windows High Performance power plan should do it)
Also, make sure you enable the XMP memory profile in the bios.
