I recently purchased the dell I7559, it ships with windows 10, but I put windows 8.1 pro on it instead. After my the problem I’ve been having is the lack of multi touch. When I first got the laptop and was messing around in windows 10, multi touch was great. I could use 2 fingers to scroll and pinch to zoom. Initially when I upgraded I figured I would be using a mouse anyways and it wouldn’t be a big deal.
I was wrong.
Using the laptop without a mouse is infuriating. It frustrates me to the fullest to have to use the scroll bars on the sides of programs, including chrome.
I have not been able to find any drivers, or even any information on who the manufacturer of my touchpad is. In the device manager the touchpad is listed as PS/2 device. and I am unable to click uninstall drivers.
If anyone could help that would be much appreciated. I’m happy to provide more information if need be.
The support page for my device on the Dell website has drivers for Windows 8.1. I just have not been able to find touchpad drivers. Right now I could use Windows 10, but the school I am attending next year does not recommend windows 10 for compatibility reasons. Hopefully by next year they will. Updating and then rolling back next year would be a headache
There were some windows 10 drivers form somewhere that I didn't realize were for Windows 10 until I tried to install then and got an error message. I also tried installing drivers from Synaptics, but I was given an error something along the lines of supported device not found. This leads me to believe the touchpad isn't made by Synaptics
The option is not there, I don't have a specific driver, in control panel, it is listed as PS/2 compliant mouse. I do not know the manufacturer. When I tried the Synaptics drivers I got an error saying something like "supported device not found"
