Hi guys,
i dont know since when windows stopped showing the folder size in the explorer (in win 98 it was there for sure) but now its gone. And because my build got only SSD's in it i have to watch the free memory and find the big folders to outsource on my server.
So is there any plugin for the build in explorer to show the foldersize without holding the mouse over it or open the settings for the folder? I tried one program but it just opens another window with a list of the current folders and this is kind of weird.
If there is no workaround for the explorer, what other explorer or program would you recommend for finding huge folders (freeware of course. Otherwise i will just switch to linux..)
thank you very much
Im just gonna put this here
Thank you Dynamic... Thats not exactly what i was looking for... i use terminals in linux but if i have to clean up and get some structure in my data i am a lot faster when using a gui-based explorer for drag and drop. So is there something that migrates in the explorer or another (gui based) explorer that is predestined for doing this kind of work?
Install linux other drive or partition, then use that storage media viewing whats it.
Go get this program called treesize and you will be saved my friend.
Thanks Pyromaster, i took a look at it sooner but didn't recocnize that there is a free version.
And Screampillar, thank you for your input. But it's insane to switch the OS just because i want to see the foldersize. (But i installed Arch anyway)
