So I upgraded to windows 8.1 yesterday because I thought why not, its free. So far I see no major difference except all of the notifications are freaking huge. It's like having the magnifier set to 200%. The desktop icons and taskbar were originally very large as well, but I got them back to normal by adjusting display settings. When I go into the Metro start screen everything is bigger so I have a feeling that since all of the notifications seem to have a metro interface, there is a setting in metro making everything huge. Since I have avoided metro like the plague I have no idea where to change tile sizes and the like. Anyone have any ideas.
Resolution is set correctly to 1920x1080, all ease of access is disabled.
Small update, I found a second display settings page in the metro interface and changed the size setting from default to small, but it is still a lot bigger than it was before.
good luck with that, Iv had a shit tone of compatibility issues, but no funky resizing........but in fairness I almost starting to get the metro start screen now its tweaked.
agreed. The only noticeable issues so far is gaming. the mouse acts retarded in some games. i set some games to be compatible with windows 8 via the compatibility tab and it still didn't fix it.
Up until now I've actually had a very positive experience with windows 8. I discovered start8 before logan and wendell showcased it and windows 8 has been much faster than windows 7 on my machine. I am starting to get used to the smaller setting for the metro ui.
Windows 8 would be perfect if there was an option to get rid of metro all together.
Metro is not so Bad on Windows 8.1 the only issue i wish i had the option to is that when i click the start button instead of showing the apps/ tiles just show the apps screen. i get tired of clicking the down arrow on the metro screen.
