So I usually have been one to figure out these problems on my own but now I'm just at a loss. I was browsing the internet last night then my PC blue screened. I reboot my PC like anyone else would do and low and behold, the OS is missing supposedly. What's odd is after it happened the first time, I just pressed the restart button a few times rapidly, got sent to windows recovery, and I just booted into 8.1. Now it happened again half an hour later except my luck isn't so great this time. Just the no OS found error. I'll post the exact error just for good measure:
"An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system."
Well here is an update. I restarted my PC, got sent to the Automatic repair, it diagnosed. It basically said "your shits messed up bro, wanna system restore?" I went ahead and did it. Nothing happened just literally the blue Windows 8 logo and the black background. I restarted again and finally the thing booted up. I'm going to scan and repair the hell out of this thing now because that was all just ridiculous.
If you have problems like this i would recommend doing following in case your mbr is corrupted in some way - also run chkdsk for your booting partiiton with params /f /r /b
Boot from your windows 8 installation disc > repair>cmd prompt, enter: BootRec.exe /fixmbr /FixBoot. Writes a boot sector onto the system partition to start Windows /ScanOs. Scans all disks for Windows installations and displays them to you. /RebuildBcd. Scans all disks for Windows installations and prompts you to pick the ones you want to add to the BCD.
