Im building a new pc and i cant decided which OS to get, Windows 7 or 8? Help is apprecaited.
get 7, 8 can be a pain in the ass for a multitude of reasons.
Thanks but windows 7 doesnt support as much ram (home premium) and windows 8 is faster in boot time and i can fix the start screen with start is back.
It supports max 16gb, why do you need more than that?
If you are paying for your operating system, well then you might as well buy the latest one.
i vote 7 just so you dont have to make any major changes to make it desktop friendly. you can get windows 7 ultimate and it utilizes up to 32 gigs of ram. dont see the need for that much ram but to each there own. if you want to get windows 8 be prepared for a headache with the new file structure.
I have 8 on my notebook (comes with it from factory). So far there has been no issue with it for me. The UI may take some time for me to get used to it. Though the minor downside is all the games I installed are running behind a bit. But I like its full support for USB 3.0. Improved alot over 7, which that's one of the major performance changes I noticed so far (the other one would be the boot time).
And about memory utilisation, anything from Pro and above can support up to 192GB of it when I'm talking about x64 OSes.
