Windows 7 64 bit ... having to pick between two at startup (Solved)

Ok guys somehow long ago now I ended up with a situation where when I boot up my pc it gets to a screen where it tells me to pick which Windows 7 64 bit install I want to use. The one it defaults to never loads up. It just restarts the pc. How do I get rid of this?

What is the condition of your OS? It sounds like Windows failed to install completely.

You could basicly re-write your mbr.
There are some guides for that on the internet.

You might want to look at a Bootloader editing util called NeoSmart EasyBCD. That util will allow you to remove extra entries from the Win bootloader, back to a single entry.

if you log in to your windows box you can actually edit it.

same goes with win7

other way is going through msconfig

@anon5205053 has it, this ^^

it should be a second line in your msconfig, removing it would remove that prompt
