Hi there,
I’m always using hibernation instead of shutting down my system to easily continue my work where I left off.
This worked fine for almost 2 years until suddenly starting about 10 days ago, the system randomly wakes from hibernation on its own.
The event log is useless e.g.:
The system has returned from a low power state.
Sleep Time: 2025-01-08T18:41:39.755584400Z
Wake Time: 2025-01-08T18:43:44.071271200Z
Wake Source: Unknown
What I tried so far:
- Reset the power plan
- Disabled wake timers (confirmed using
powercfg /waketimers
) - Disabled “allow this device to wake the computer” for all devices
- Did a Windows repair installation
- Updated some drivers
- Reset the BIOS
- Updated BIOS to latest version
- Disabled “wake from RTC/PCIe” in BIOS
- Disabled “WOL” in BIOS
This automatic wake as well happens if no USB device and no network cable is connected!
Any ideas?
