Windows 11 Pro, 24H2 Issue

So I tried to update to 24H2 build on my WS and no errors were reported however, this build seemed to break my networking stack, both the wired and the wireless connections.

The weird part is that it appears to only affect DNS.

So I tried changing from DHCP to Manual with the same results.

I used both Googles Public DNS and Cloudflares with the same results, no DNS.

I reverted back to the 23H2 build and all is working fine now.

Running a 7950x CPU on an Asus X670E Mobo with 96GB of RAM in Dual-Channel config.

It has both an onboard Intel 2.5gb NIC and a Mediatek Wifi adapter.

Everything else is working fine that I can see in Device manager, even before I attempted the update.

I will try again next weekend but was hoping to get some guidance on this one.

While I (unfortunately) can’t shine any additional light on why updating 11Pro to 24H2 causes these problems, I had similar issues with my Intel Alder Lake (my daily driver). Ended up doing exactly what you did (roll back to 23H2), and it’s working again.
And, I then downloaded the most recent version of Linux Mint, and bought myself another SSD for eventual install. Microsoft does a great job converting users from Windows to Linux :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:!

@eastcoastpete I hear you but my Steam Library is so freaking huge that I don’t know if I can convert just yet.

But with the advent of the Steam OS coming to non-Steam Deck machines, soonish, this may change
