Windows 10 Upgrade error

So I'm in the process of upgrading my one of my desktops to windows 10 and I have been waiting because I wasn't sure that it has all the requirements because it's an old computer.

I have tried to install windows 10 about 3 or 4 times and the closest I have gotten is the windows 10 logo frozen with some sort of artifacting on the screen as if the gpu was overclocked but it's not overclocked.

I also get a windows update error code: C1900101-20017.

Here's my interesting setup:

Also can someone please verify that Intel core 2 duo E6600 is 64 bit because my pc is confusing me as it says that it is a 32 bit only cpu.

Yes, your Core 2 Duo is 64 bit and I suspect this may be your problem. But I am no expert.

I upgraded my GF's Core 2 Duo from Win7 x86 to Win10 x64 using a USB stick. It worked great until I plugged in the internet, then Microsoft had a waiting Activation Bomb that turned the screen dark. After I called Microsoft tech support for an hour they told me I had to wipe the PC, install win7 x64 and then go through the whole download win10 x64 through the Microsoft website procedure. It took all day but her PC is running well with Win10 x 64 now.

my system seems to think that the cpu is not 64 compatible which is weird.
