@rand0mpcstuffs If you want DX12 then unfortunately you have to go with Win10, otherwise yeah, Win8.1 + Classic Shell FTW. That or dual boot with Linux.
Indeed. We have our own Tek Support system, but we are launching a paetreon soon. The goal is to improve production quality and content quality by removing our need for marketing loot. The Tek Support members and paetreon members will receive the same benefits.
Hi Fellas: Thanks for this great tutorial. you should also check your C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc 'host' file. i smell something fishy there. They are some fixes for the "host' file going around but i don't trust the sources putting them out.
interessting. i exaly checked the KB updates that are named in the pcworld article. And exaly non of those are installed on my Windows 7 system. But they are offered due Windows update so becarefull. i allways install updates manualy.
These 4 do exist on my system, but these are not adressed in the article of pcworld. I will google what those are doing. i think that these 4 updates are related to OS update advisors, for updating to Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 but im not fully sure.
Hey guys cool piece with good info however I have a questions. If your not using Bing what are you using? Google is actually worse at grabbing your data in Search, Email and browser. What are you suggesting for these three areas that is free and keeps your privacy?
Anyway awesome and very usefull video. I think we should make a good documentation thread about this, once you got everything worked out.. Then make it a wiki.
So just an fyi after uninstalling some of those default apps, after reboot they will be reinstalled automatically. Not sure what needs to be blocked to prevent that.
