Do you guys know how to disable the automatic updates? I know there is a technique in which you can make your internet connection be labeled as "meter" thus it will limit the downloads.
But metered connections are limited to WiFi connections and not ethernet connections.
I have had bad experiences with Windows Updates; for some reason, I get a bluescreen after the install... it's rare, but it does happen.
I know I can easily uninstall the update, but I don't want it to be a hassle that's all.
Thanks!
There's all sorts of ways to disable windows updates but since MS prefers them enabled, they are all sorta "hackish".
The least hackish one is just to disable the windows update service under services.msc
Some programs (like hotfixes) need the service to install so just remember to reenable it for specific installs later on.
Can also use http://pxc-coding.com/portfolio/donotspy10 but I haven't tested it thorooughly myself so not sure how well it works. Just check the 'Windows Update' checkbox.

Tried the DoNotSpy tool and so far, it is looking like it is doing what I want it to do.
Thanks pal!
