has anyone researched the attached link? if this could be turned off i would like to know how. also, i think the community at large should be made aware of the potential data collection/personal security risk involved.
If this is bogus, please let me know and also the rest of the community who might find this concerning might be put at ease.
I read the the blog post and to me it just seems to be sensationalized writing on an issue that has been discussed since release. Yes they can collect next to all of your data, yes you can mostly turn it off. You need to use a local account that hasn't be registered with an email account. Next you need to go into your settings panel and basicially turn off anything to do with being "helped" and especially turn off the location stuff(unless you are using windows 10 on a mobile device and need that functionality).
Also there is a useful open source that i found on reddit that turns off(or removes)the location tracking stuff if you want to make sure. you can find it here (use at your own risk and go through the source code if you want)
oh and also, wtf is with that site(see attached for photo).
Where have you been... and what is that news source...
A google search is all the research you need to do on this topic, it has been pretty big since WIndows 10 came out. There are many forum posts here and on other forums that delve into the topic.
