It should work with the official Intel driver for the controller, unless there is some yet to be ironed out bug in it specific for 8.1. There shouldn't be...
Thanks It's funny but the Samsung secure erase doesn't work in Windows 8. Do you know of any that do?
Hadn't heard about that and sorry I don't have a recommendation. Samsung ought to fix that though in a future version of their software. Try some third party program that can do a secure erase in the meantime, if you really need to do one. It is very rarely necessary to secure erase an SSD besides for testing purposes.
I heard windows 7 os install has it, not sure why windows 8 and 8.1 have same features.
