Will this CPU work?

Hey guys so I have a AMD FX 8320 CPU and want to get a MSI Z97 SLI Krait LGA 1150 motherboard. Does anyone know if my CPU will fit? And if it won't do you have any motherboard suggestions for a gaming PC? Thanks.

No, the sockets are wrong. You need a AM3+ socket motherboard.

No. That's an AMD cpu, so it won't fit in a motherboard made for Intel.

If your using that CPU you should be looking at motherboards with the AM3+ socket and the 990FX, 990X, or 970 chipsets.

Check out the MSI 970 Gaming motherboard.

This cannot be real..

Could be a troll post, but who knows the level of blindness can get to.

Nope it wont work indeed like @Zavarrr allready stated, the fX8320 is an AMD AM3+ cpu, and will only fit in AMD AM3+ boards. 970 and 990FX chipset boards.

Msi recently made a Msi 970A Krait edition motherboard, But i dont think that this mobo will be a good buy for a powerhungry FX 8 core chip.
I took a quick look at the motherboards Vreg design, and it only has a 4+1 powerphase, so i would not recommend to put a FX 8 core chip on there.

If you need a cheap motherboard, i could give you some decent recommendations for AM3+, but then i need to know your budget for a motherboard.

Could be, but its hard to judge about that.
Since there are users, who are totaly new to pc hardware, and realy have no idea where to start.

If someone makes a similar thread in the future, here's a handy video about how to choose a motherboard from Paul's hardware that came out a day or two ago:

Literally covers the problem this guy had as the first "thing".

On a krait.. No! lols... Im not sure if they have admitted or not.. but on there crappy power delivery system.. it owuldnt be enough to power the Vishera/Zambezi/Bulldozer 8 cores...

BUT WAIT FOR IT.. WHY WOULD A LGA1150 MOBO Work with AM3+ ??????????
LMAO

I think you meant the krait board for AMDs Chipset?? I hope so

Thats indeed a cool video :)

The whole forum could do with a few good 'stickies' for peeps to read before creating threads like this. Like what the old forum design had. There are far too many vague or 'trollish' threads coming about these days.
