Hello I am about to purchase some parts to assemble an AMD machine for Ubuntu
Could I get some opinions please …
If anyone could confirm that this build is compatible

I know many people say about it being best to have parts that are comparable with Linux, but from my somewhat limited experience (4 completely random laptops & desktops) ive not had any issues with any configuration. It could just be look on my part, but from my experience its commonly smooth sailing.
Given AMD drivers are typically regarded as better on Linux I’d imagine this should be fine, but I’d also consider waiting for someone with more experiance/technical expertise than myself (basically anyone else in the forum haha)… Just my 2 cents.
Just to make sure, check what audio chipset is on the motherboard and see if there’s a Linux driver already in the kernel for it. Beside that I don’t think there could be any component on that motherboard that doesn’t work.
If you have doubts just check what controllers and chips are on the motherboard and look for a Linux driver.
The only iffy part is Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. MSI has a habit of using broadcom stuff with no Linux driver available. Those Wi-Fi specs are pretty bad too. If you care about that I would suggest going a different route.
I’d get memory that is pc3600 as that seemed to be the sweet spot for the processor at that time. If memory serves me.
I have the ryzen 9 3900x and 32gigs of pc3600 memory on an asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming mobo and it works fine with linux mint (another derivative of debian just like ubuntu.)
