Will there ever be a TekSyndicate App?

Hey! I was recently thinking about how other major tech sites out there have at least a mobile version of the website (as for this, the mobile site is pretty terrible, sorry to say) (UPDATE: Nice work on the mobile site! Fixed all my problems!), or an app. I have been dabbling in android apps recently and could probably help if we had a community project or something to make one. I am sure there are people more experienced than I am. I don't know, but it would be cool if we could post stuff on the forum through the app. You guys could also make ad revenue off of that too.

Update #1:

I have been doing some preliminary research, and aside from building our own custom app from scratch, the best thing I could find in the way of paid apis is tapatalk (link), and vBulletin (link). Unfortunately tapatalk has a $99 setup fee + $29 a month, and vBulletin is $199. Other ones I have found that are free are forumrunner (link), and proboards (link). In the way of making a custom app, we would have to work closely with wendell and logan to figure out how to interface the app the best with the website in the way of fetching data from the server and what not.

FOR LOGAN/WENDELL: Based on what I have heard when you talk about the website, it sounds like you have built the site from scratch or nearly scratch. If you used something like vBulletin, or whatever you used, if its not totally from scratch is there a mobile adaptation that you can use. For instance if you use vBulletin on your website, you can use their mobile adaptation services (i think) to make an app.

All the best!

i would want it

I have some (EDIT: very) limited experience in making iOS and Android apps and would also be happy to help out if you guys want to start a community project. I'd also be willing to spend the ~$30 on the Atlassian tool chain if someone could host it. They have free code hosting but the other tools are pretty nifty although maybe overkill if it was just one or two people working on it.

what is involed in hosting it
