Hello, I'm thinking about buying an r9 290 and I was wondering if it would work well in the system of mine, here's what I have:
Motherboard: z77 sabertooth
CPU: i5-3770k
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengence
Power Supply: Corsair TX750
Case: HAF-X
Cheers.

Yes, it is.
But, if you're quick you can grab a 290X for the price of a 290 here:

That's like 200 GBP
I just bought one. And yes, they do ship to the UK.
Not sure where you live in the world. But yea. In a lot of benchmarks, an overclocked r9 290 beats a 290x. A few guys did reviews about which brand is the best and all that too. But I bought my wife a directcu 2 r9 290 and clocked it at 1045 boost clock and 5500 memory. You might have better luck with like a vapor-x, tri-x, or xfx maybe?
Really they'll only be 2-3 frames apart in most cases, so buy the one that makes you and your wallet happy.
Well, if they cost the same it might be smart to opt for the higher model, right? Plus, you can still overclock that.
I used the R9 290 Tri-X until now which is a great card and I have the 8GB XFX 290X for my other system, but 274€ for the Club 3D 290X was hard to resist. It's not the best 290X out there, but it will still do good at 1440p gaming.
yea true
i5 3770k? lol
Do you mean i5 3570k, or i7 3770k?
Whichever it is. Yes, it's fine.
Yeah, I mean the i5. Sorry about that :D
