Will the 660 run most games?

Hello all,

Lately my 7750 has been slowing down, getting louder and rising in temperature. I've given the fans a good compressed air blast, but it was a second-hand card anyway so I'm thinking of getting a Gigabyte 660 2GB. I play games like CoD: Ghosts at 40-50FPS on a normal/high combo and Saints Row: The Third at 30FPS on ultra right now, so what would the 660 be able to do? Here are my current specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0GHz

GPU: Gigabyte 7750 1GB

RAM: Geil 8GB (4x2GB) 1333MHz

PSU: Thermaltake 450W

Even though the 660 needs 450W and my CPU needs 95W, according to all my mates it should all still work, but I want a second opinion on that. Also, is there a better card in the 660's price range? I get my parts from here http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=2 [660: http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=247&bid=2&sid=98885] (They're the cheapest place near me) and don't really want to go over $220, especially if I need a new PSU as well.

Yeah the 660 is still a great card but im not sure how it will handle cod ghost. I have a 660 2gb oc and I can play all my games on ultimate.

Yes, it will max out most games at 1080 but not Crysis 3, Farcry 3 etc. (the most demanding titles)

Yes, you can get a 270 or a 270x for around the 200$ price point and it is much faster.

450W is okay. Check this graph, those are systems total power usage (with Intel Core i7-3770K). 660 obviously would requires slightly less. Overclocking requires a bit more, of course.

GTX 660 is still a pretty good card but I wouldn't buy it new. I would look for a used 7950 / 7970 or 660Ti / 670.

I checked out the 270s around my price range and they all need 500W, so I'm going to play it safe and go with the 660 unless there's another good card for that price

450W would be fine for any mid-range card.
