Will running linux on a mech drive be a problem?

so i have only 1 SSD in my system that basically holds all my windows and everything so far, all my other data is on a nas on my network until i get my raids up and running and my data drives installed [ waiting on cables ]

when my drives are ready i want to install linux onto a mech drive and dual boot or even run my virtual machines off a mech drive and run mac and linux when i need to. Am i going to see performance problems doing this?

Slower boot times and loading times obviously, just what you'd expect from a HDD instead of an SSD.
