so i heard that ram used to be really..REALLY cheap then to ram factories burnt down or something? my question is "will ram get cheaper?" i just paid like $130 for 8 gb of ram and yes...i live in australia
XD nothing ever gets cheaper with time. Inflation and such...
Australian prices are a doosy... Ram in general is going to take a while to come back down. The factories burning down caused the price to spike, and now manufactures want to keep it high. There was a meeting of the major ram makers and they basically said yes we have recovered from the fires, but we don't think ram prices can come down for a while, like into 2015. They like the extra money so they'll try to keep prices up for as long as possible.
I doubt that they will drop anytime soon. The cheapest I have seen in the U.S is $64.99 for a 2x4 8GB DDR3 1600. Before the fires, the last I can remember was that the prices of RAM were high $40s to low $50s. I am not sure what that equates to in Australian dollars but I can tell its been a giant spike in price. Since people are greedy, they won't want the prices to go down. But, you never know.
