Ok so I'm wondering whether there is anyway to find out whether my Motherboard will drag down my CPU's performance.
I'm not talking a little bit of drag, I'm just concerned that it might cripple my whole build.

It'll be fine.
The only way that motherboard would be a bottleneck is if you got a K cpu and wanted to overclock. Even then it wouldn't be that much of a bottleneck.
These days, the only limitations on a motherboard are if it doesn't have the features you want. So if you wanted built in wifi and bluetooth, you should get another board.
