a 290x will have 4gbs of memory and will be able utilize it so go for that

To asewr your question:

You current cpu, is still a sollid cpu, there wont be realy a bottleneck at all. You should be fine.

+1 The only limitation of that particular CPU is going to multiple modern GPU setups really.
