Will duplicating my display affect performance?

I have a 7870 hooked up to a 1080p monitor and a 1080p HDTV and occasionally I duplicate the display when freinds are over. will this impact my performance in games? If so, by how much?

It's just splitting the signal through I/O into two signals so no, you will not see an apriciable difference. Running an extended desktop however is a little bit of a performance hit even if the extended monitor is only displaying desktop notifications and IMs or a web browser window. But the performance hit isn't very significant.
