From Tek Syndicates workstation video I know the Define R4 can fit the Asus Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard just barely.
After watching that I decided to switch to R4 for silence, but waited long enough for the R5 to arrive. Now I see the R5 has a recess for the motherboard, which probably means that my system wont fit in there.
So, can anyone confirm that R5 only supports standart ATX and nothing wider? If that's the case, I'll have to get the "old" R4.
Kyle from Awesomesauce Network has the X99 Gaming G1 and it fits in his R5 so it can fit slightly larger than ATX apparently. But your motherboard... I can't imagine fitting at all.
Yeah, it's almost 9cm wider than what I have seen installed in R5. Oh well, either take the R4, or wait and hope for a new XL revision :|
Due to the motherboard tray being recessed, boards larger than ATX will likely have compatibility issues.
To sum it up - I got a Define XL R2 instead. All fits well, cooling is fine, I'm happy for now.
Strange they don't make these in white, but that I could paint when/if I want to :)
