Will an SSD help with gameplay recording?

Hi, so I've been recording stuff with Nvidia shadowplay and when I play back the video, it's laggy and it does that thing when all the pixels turn into big 240p sized blotches that eventually fade away. I'm recording at 60fps at 1080p.

Would an SSD help in this case?

Thanks

How big are the files?

It is possible that the bitrate is too high, if that is the case an SSD should help.

Definitely.

Get the cheapest higher capacity SSD (you'll need the speed of an SSD for high res recording.

Or

You can get some 10K SAS drives and raid them. you can get close to SSD performance with the higher capacity. Although you'll need to invest in an enclosure that'll fit in a 5 1/4 bay like this one http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=105

and a Raid card to power them and take load off of your CPU when writing to them in Raid.

I'd go with the SAS option for high speed and capacity.
