Will a 450w PSU handle a GTX 780 and a 4670k?

Is the SFX 450w PSU from Sillverstone enough to handle a 780 and a 4670k?

I believe it can. Albeit, you would be cutting it fine. Here's a video of a 780ti and other high end components running on a gold rated 450W:

If the PSU in question is highly efficient, uses good components, I say go for it. If it doesn't have a high efficiency rating, consider upgrading.

Yes it can handle it. but i wouldn't consider overclocking any of the components.

Thanks. I'm going to do a build in the Raven RVZ01.

Yes, it can run on a 450W PSU (an overclocked 4670k and an overclocked 770 + 2 harddrives and a bunch of fans don't draw more than 350W from the wall, just to show you how little power components actually use under load) but you have to be careful about a few things: The PSU needs enough amps on the +12V rail to properly power a 780, many 450W PSUs will not provide that so make sure that the one you're choosing does. Secondly you probably want something that is 80+ gold rated or higher, since you will be pushing it to its limits with this setup at times. Efficiency will probably not be optimal with this setup, so the PSU might get a bit warmer and louder because of that, so you should go for a very high quality model as well. I'd still go for a high quality 550W PSU just to make sure, it shouldn't matter too much at that price point tbh.

I looked at the silverstone PSU that you're probably talking about, the SFX one that fits into that small case. It seems like that could be problematic, since it can just provide 36A on the combined +12V rails. A 780 is rated at a minimum of 42A on the +12V rails if I remember correctly. I'd say you should do some more research and find out if people are running a similar setup (this PSU + a 780) and if it is actually running fine for them.

Hmm, after some research it seems like a few people are running this PSU with a titan or with a 780, so it seems to work. I seriously wouldn't try to overclock ANY components though, you are cutting it pretty close here. Definitely do some more research and see if you can find multiple people running a stable system with a 780 and this PSU. It's your call here, whether you trust those reports or not. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1707073&page=16
