I have a Biostar x370 gtn and a zen 2 cpu.
The board is itx with two dimm slots and it officially supports up to 32GB of ram.
3XX motherboards with 4 dimm slots support up to 64GB of ram.
On newer 4XX and 5XX itx motherboards you can install 2*32GB dimms for a total of 64 gigabytes.
Is there any chance that 64GB (2 * 32GB) would work on my current motherboard?
Biostar should have a RAM compatibility list on their site for your mainboard tried that?
it officially supports up to 32GB of ram.
No, it’s not officially supported.
Don’t think so. My B350 board only supports 16GB dimms. I have 64GB in my board. It’s Samsung memory.
I have no experience with the Biostar board, but my Gigabyte AX370-Gaming 5 does currently run with a 32GB 3200MHz ECC DIMM. The memory compatibility list on the manufacturers website also only mentions 16GB DIMMs, not a single 32GB DIMM, still it runs fine. So to put it in a nutshell, there is a good chance that another X370 board will also work with two 32GB DIMMs but it is not guaranteed and as long as you don’t find someone with this specific board you will have to try yourself.
