Wifi card

So I'm about to build a new pc next year. I need a good wifi card because cable is not an option.

These are the two

GIGABYTE Model GC-WB867D-I Bluetooth 4.0/WiFi Expansion Card

and

ASUS PCE-AC68 Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Adapter

I need to know what is the better one and what are the differences?

NO GREEN PCB HERE

Cheers

Strictly talking performance, of course the $100 card. How much better? I can't say as it would heavily depend on the router. If you have a consumer grand wi-fi router, the difference would probably be negligible, if any difference at all. Assuming said router is some crappy consumer grade one you got from the ISP, or one that was picked up for dirt cheap, a power-line adapter would be better, especially for gaming, where ping is paramount. Copper is better than wifi, especially at 2.4GHz where it's subject to multitudes of interference.

If powerline isn't an option either, and you don't have a high-end/5Ghz router, go with the Gigabyte. But if you have a router that is pretty decent that can take advantage of the extra features of the ASUS card, then that's the winner.

The Asus product has +50% the bandwidth of the gigabyte product.

To the best of my knowledge the Asus card is the best on the market.
