Here my issue. my roomate moved out and bought a house up the road from myself. We are trying to eliminate him having to buy internet at home (shady i know).
I have 2 Engenius ENH500 which are directional 28db antennae.
there are lots of trees and houses between us, but walking distance from my house to his is only .4 miles.
think i can do it? there is a elevation difference between my house and his - his is higher than mine.
Not gonna add anything useful besides the fact that you may want to blur out the street names. Because if you get caught they can use those above images as damning evidence. If you blur the names you can make the case that that is not your neighborhood.
My first thought would be a set of the UBNT radios mounted to the outside of the houses or on to tress or something. Not sure if they will work through all of the trees and whatnot though.
There are limits on how loud (powerful) you can have the antenna, but there's nothing stopping you from having a directional 300km antenna to shoot at the horizon to your cousin Bob's if you live in a really big flat area. 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands are unlicensed, at least in the US. It's your right as a citizen to use those bands as you see fit.
