Wifi adapter

Here is my build : http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Jerboa4444/saved/3B4C

I have around 40mbps down/ 5mbps up connection. I am going with a wireless adapter because using an ethernet cable is not an option. I believe I need an wifi adapter because I don't have one included with my mobo.

USB or PCI or PCie? I prefer under $20 (US) My graphics card is PCIe 3.0.

Does the 150mbps or 300mbps versions matter? or could I get away with the 54mbps model? The pc will be around 20-30 feet from the router and will have to go through a wall. I plan to game on my pc.

Thanks!

get whatever the max protocol your wireless router is capable of.

Yeah, the 54mbps is the max speed. If you ever upgrade your internet, even if you don't think you will you could be held back by the slow one. I'd say go for the 100 mbps one, but you really do not have to 54mbps will be fine. As for usb/pci/pci-e you'll have to get someone elses opinion on that.

Thanks. Anyone else know the difference in usb/PCI/PICe?

I have a ASUS Ac66u wifi router and ASUS Pce-AC68 pci-e wifi card and it works great. It goes threw 2 floors and gets full 5 out of 5 bar reception. Its kind of over kill but Google fiber is coming to my town soon.

Also pci-e adaptors are more reliable then anything USB.

ASUS PCE-N15. Got three of them and I love em.
