Why Linux

   Hi everyone!

I was wondering why use linux for personal use other than windows. I do relize that there was a video prior about this but it seemed more server and buissness bases. Why could Linux is not unix be for me? (ex virus "proof", Steam support now)

Simple, because it's better for personal use. Check the forum, there are thousands of arguments in favour of linux, and it's not fair to compare linux with windows, those are totally different things, linux is a free and open source operating system that puts your brain in control of your computer so that you can earn money with it, windows is a software console that puts others in control of your brain so that you spend money on them...

I think that anyone that is not playing games or creating content should use it because it can be, and there is, distributions of it that are more user friendly than windows or OS X and if you are just listening to music or browsing the web it is really hard to mess up a linux install(there is no crap-ware or toolbars or anything like that for it that the average user will get infected with on windows.). Not only can it be user friendly, it can be hacker/power user friendly at the same time. You can set it up to look and act anyway you want, so if you spend a little time customizing, you can be very productive in it. The only thing that is missing is native support for alot of games and video/audio/game production software, everything else that you could ever want is probably already on it and most likely free and open source.
