there are many people out there syaing vista has many issues why dont microsft get a new operating system which involves performance speed and quality. where as vista is just slow buggy softwares and games not working at full potential. so i was wondering is it possbile to run two operating system on one HDD drive. one more thing if it is possbile to run hd 4870 and hd 3870 in crossfire x what are the requirements and what performance do you think will get out of this configration???????????????
thanz a million quid ££££££££££££
just download service pack 1 for vista. you can run the 4870 and 3870 in crossfire but make sure that they have the same amount of memory. also, make sure that you put the 4870 in your primary slot.
yeah, you can run 2 os's on one hd using virtualization software, but i woulden't. vista isn't bad anymore. it works well and quick
i have installed service pack 1 but instad of improving it not letting me run some of he softwares which working in the first place.
what will be the PSU requirements to run them in crossfire x
don't put the 4870 and 3870 in the same computer because the 4870 will lower too the clocks of the 3870 and the whole reason the 4870 is so fast is becasue of 800 stream processors 46 texture units and its memory clock for gddr5, if the memory clock goes to the 3870 one, it wont be nearly was good.
a little bit of an over exaggeration, but the fact is, 1. microsoft needed funds and 2. buisnesses and corporations paying liscensing fees expect to get what theyre payign for, a new operating system, every 2-3 years. But the fact is, vista was the same as ME, Its a flop. Actually corporations had to spend the time to upgrade their os' and then teach their employess to work AROUND the bugs. Vista at launch was terrible, btu it HAS gotten better. I loathe microsoft and hardly spend anytime on my vista partition except when i play games. The rest of my time is spent on my fedora 9 and suse partitions.
vista has good features i admit that but for games i dont think so
so if i ran crossfire x witha 3850 wwhich is ddr3 the 3870 will go down a couple of noches to meet same speed it that what you mean "flimatt"????????
but if i want to run some old games which i love very much and they only work on xp what can i do is there any way i can play them on vista
for games it does have good features because it has directx 10 and hybrid croosfire. xp does not support directx10 or hybrid crossfire.
i am not botherd by dx10 not much differnce between dx9 and 10 yes get extra shaders and stuff but have you checked out crysis there is a pacth which lets you unlock crysis dx10 features in xp which is rendered using dx9 so if you ask me dx10 is a sham.
what about hybrid crossfire?
the ATI hybrid is exceelent casue i want tor run it in xp which giev me bosst in games. playing games in xp gives atleast 35% in games in xp with service pack 3 casue it only requires 256 mb of ram and vista atleast needs 1gb which is 75% more. and there are many games out there ( as explained above) dont work on vista
well, how much ram do you have?
i have 4GB of ocz ati kit ddr2 800 clocked to over 1000mhz
well then, go with vista 64 bit. it should work like a charm. hopefully. no garantees.
vista will run great with 4 gigs
Yeah, I didn't read any of the posts, I'm so tired right now, but I'll make a thread or video on partitioning your hard drive and installing Linux with Windows.
can you show how to install vista with xp?
fatalone, when you install xp and get to the format screen, set the it to only partition however much u want for xp, and leave the rest unallocated, then when you install vista have it partition the unallocated space an vuala
