Why is no one talking about Linux Deepin? Its amazeballs

Of course its beautiful but I've been using it for a month now on desktop and laptop and found it incredibly functional. The community has answered all my questions, the store is designed well and the distro works great for people new to Linux. So far I feel like the devs respond very quickly.

Before I spread the word (probably make some YT videos) I thought I'd check with TS. Try hard to find negatives because I would like to be aware of them, before heavily promoting it. Here's my list:

  • Its Chinese (so further English/other localisations and getting racists to trust it)
  • Dual monitors (I've had this problem with every distro)
  • SPDIF audio (i've had this problem with almost every distro)
  • Plays quirky sound on start up and shutdown
  • I think it depreciates ppa's
  • Initial update takes FOREVER, even with the mirror changed
  • No auto mirrors

The update and mirror problem killed it for me. I have 3Mb/s down......if I am lucky.

So no updates for me.

Because it looks like Windows 10 and GNOME had a love child, and because a lot of things haven't been translated yet. there's some things on the system still written in chinese.

If they want to surprise me they need to add tablet centric features.. considering it looks too similar to WIndows 10.

Yeah I can see how that would ruin it for you. Do you know why it happens? Would auto mirros fix your problem?

No.

There were ways to kind of sort of jery rig the problem, but eh.

What's bad about a Win10 / GNOME lovechild?

How bad was the Chinese when you were using it? Now its only on store comments and some static install images.

A Deepin surface would be dope. Not worth the dev time right now but could be soon. The UE is getting close imo.
