So about a two years ago i bought me Razer Megalodon headset, and it worked perfectly on my Compaq Presario CQ61 laptop, one year later i got into scholarship (probably misspelled) to become a seaman and got an HP ProBook 4520s from the school and just as i got home to install all the drivers for the megalodon, the drivers got correctly installed and all was fine untill i realized that i couldnt hear anything and neither could my buddies on skype do. I plugged it into my compaq and it worked. After playing around for a bit i got the speakers to work but not the mic so to conclude it all i can either use the mic or the speakers. So i chose speakers and used the build in mic on the computer. Then i managed to get evrything to work a few months ago for about a week. Ever sence it stopped working its just been sitting on the floor collecting dust. what can i do to get it to work again? have someone had the same problem? and will i throw a towel at my wall?
Best reguards Emil from sweden!
ive just gotten onto Tek syndicate so ill throw this up on general since i dont know where this post belongs
Isnt the megalodon an all in one soundcard and headset/mic? could it be conflicting with the onboard soundcard in the laptop? try disabling the onboard sound in bios and see if it allows the magalodon to function.
Could be wrong if i am just re enable the onboard sound in bios and it will go back to how it is now,
restart laptop and hit F10 repeatedly until you get into bios
Think thats how its done on your Laptop, once in the bios used the arrow keys to navigate, look for something about onboard audio or onboard features etc. Youl be looking for somewhere to disable the onboard audio.
When you leave the bios make sure you save and exit (usually prompted with a are you sure? y/n question)
just make sure that when you in bios you dont change anything else other than the onboard audio. There should be instructions somewhere in the bios screen telling you what keys to press to change/navigate around.
