Why does my RAM keep dying?

I have had this set of corsair vengeance lp for about 3 months and memtest has come up with errors. Should I bother replacing them since I only noticed because of a BSOD after I told my PC to update and restart. I haven't had any BSODs whilst gaming. Why do these errors keep happening, would heat from my NH-D14 be causing it since the heatpipes are very close to the RAM? Could memtest be giving false positives? Another thing to note is that the RAM has had errors after playing modded ARMA 3 and modded Minecraft, could these be causing it?

Thanks.

By "keep dying" has this been a problem in the past with other modules?

If it's just been those, I'd try doing a process of elimination. Swap one dim after the other and run memtest to confirm which one is bad, you don't need to replace the whole set.

Corsair insist that I must send back the pair since that it what happened with my last set

do you overclock anything ?

If you're having multiple DIMMs fail then you could have any one of a variety of problems. Hell, it could even influenced by your elevation above sea level.

Test the RAM in a different machine, test the machine with different RAM.

I have a 4.2GHz i7 ivybridge that is 75 degrees at 100% load

I wish I had another machine to test in, but all I can really do is test which stick is faulty. Not that it matters since I will have to send both sticks back. Is it worth me RMAing until it works or is something causing this issue.

Could this issue be caused by setting RAM voltage at auto and manually setting RAM at DDR3 1600MHz

eh you might wanna see about testing in another machine somehow, you might not have bad dimms, but bad slots on your mobo...

Could be. Try setting the speed, voltage, and timings to exactly what is specified in the JEDEC table for DDR3-1600.

For example, for the memory in my system I would set it to run under the settings defined in JEDEC #6:

Then run memtest86 again. If it passes, I would then start testing with the settings specified under the XMP profiles.

I can confirm that one stick has died and all ram slots are functional.

I got a pair of Corsair Vengeance LP but they've been "bad sticks" from the beginning. I switched to G.Skill Sniper and they've been working great since the beginning. I guess you need to change brand like I did.
It's weird to hear this things because I've been running 4GB of Corsair's XMS2 for 6 years in a hot like hell case and they still work great.
