Why are PC games missing split screen?

It's well known that alot of PC games support controllers, I don't understand why games have splitscreen on the console version but not the PC version, does anyone know any games that support splitscreen on PC? I would happily buy 2 PC compatible controllers to plug in if more games supported splitscreen.

awesomenauts and rayman: origins are the two that i can think off the top of my head.

Because peopel who game on pc are losers and low-lifes who have no friends to split screen with in the first place. That is why they are on pc and not being social like everyone else and spending time on xbox live.

But seriously, the controller feature is just sort of an add on since so many people are growing up with and are more comfortable with a controller. Pc gamers have lan parties. Console gamers bring friends over to play on the same system. I doubt that any game making company would really have the incentive to make a splitscreen mode because pc gamers just don't really expect to do that. I would just tell your friends to get decent systems of their own ;)

I recently got awesomenauts in the last humble bundle. Pretty awesome perk, I didn't know you could do that.

Because she won't move over...

We have HDMI now and we had S-Video out and scan converter in the past.

Because two or more people sitting in the same room, each with their own full sized screen and settings is much more enjoyable that sitting on one PC and playing splitscreen. No screenwatching. no arguing over preferences, no limiting yourself to only 2-4 players. Also, most avid PC players want to use a keyboard and mouse to play games. If youre going to use controllers, just use a console.
