Mine is Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Caprica, Constantine, ..), hes got a great youtube channel imo that goes into how he makes a lot of the music https://www.youtube.com/user/bearmccreary/
This is probably my favorite piece

And of course prelude to war

For TV, Bear is the only one that comes to mind, because he does shit like this:

For modern film, off the top of my head, John Murphy's stuff is fantastic and often haunting:

Also I like what little I've heard from Jean-Pierre Taieb as well:

And of course Hanz Zimmer can do some great work, when he's not pushing out bland, standard scores for Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer movies:

The Sunshine track you picked is definetly a good one.
I like Hanz Zimmer, it always has that epic feel but I dunno, his music is good but I dont always get that good feeling from it.
Jean-Pierre Taieb's music sounds nice, I might need to look up more.
Clint Mansell I think is also pretty good. I thought his music for The Fountain was great

Bears new music for Constantine is interesting:
