Who is running a 4k monitor?

I just sold off a few extraneous parts and peripherals this week and am itching to blow the proceeds on something frivolous.

If you have a 4k monitor, are you enjoying it? Based on price, I will be sticking to the 28-inch size category.

I don't game all that much, but am eager to enjoy 4k video.

I got one of these things

I have a 27" 4k. The picture is great & gaming support is really good, even most old titles have a 4k option, if they don't, I haven't had any issues with running different resolutions in game.

Outside of gaming, it still kind of sucks at 27" though. Scaling is hit & miss, some programs work, others force you to lean forward & squint to see what the text says.

I would not buy another 4k in the 27/28" range personally. I'm looking for a good 34" widescreen at the moment instead & may even drop back to 1440, more for productivity reasons over gaming though.

exactly what @Mora said. I have a 27" 4K as well. Gaming is fine. Video is good. Windows scaling and lack of UI scaling on a lot of applications (especially older apps) makes that size of display terrible for productivity. I'm not a big fan of massive displays on PC, so I can't speak for the larger 4K displays, but If I could make the decision again, I'd actually probably stick with good old 1080p.

I'm running a Samsung 40" ku6290 TV. I love it for multiple windows at once. YouTube in one corner. Word document in a other. Chrome in another and coding/ssh terminal in another. Gaming is great on it even though ok Wendell did not like what he saw on test he ran on one like it. But for 300 bucks and my non sensitive eyes it is great for me.

I have been looking at the 4K one from Monoprice to use on my 2015 MBP. OS X handles scaling in a way better way than Windows does. They don't leave it up to the application and the OS handles it all.

I am not a gamer at all and would just be using it for productivity and light photo/video editing.

I've got a 40" 4K display. One of the ones TS/L1T reviewed a while back. @Skelterz has one as well. Not the same but the same size so maybe he can chime in.

I personally love it. I love the screen space and how big it is. No need fr scaling at all. Games, content and work all look great on it. I do have two other 1440p monitors as well connected on each side (the 40" is mounted to the wall behind the desk, two 27" 1440p displays are on the right and left. Left one is in portrait) and it really works out well for me.

Personally I wouldn't recommend anything under 32" for 4K. The scaling in windows makes it a poor experience but big 4K is epic

324k here. I've had it for over a year and am loving it. I dread using my laptop or the monitors at work now. I think that a bit bigger would be better for easy reading though. Something like 36". That said, I have never had any problems with being able to read things on the 32" with no scaling. But it could stand to be a bit bigger.

I'm using a few 4K displays. Overall, it's a great experience. Had to adjust some scaling on certain systems, but it's working very well.

Yes, 40" 4K is glorious, so much space that i rarely use my 24" 1080p.
@Scottfish
I think 4k really shines at this size, even at 40" 4k it is still double the ppi of my old 32" 1080p. Also you can see all the smaller details that 4k makes possible. I starred at Geralt's chainmail for a good 30 minutes before even starting the game lol.

4K tv out of the box and used a few times but only with the Xbox One S and I still haven't done the calibration or whatever recommended so I won't speak to how good or bad this is. I have been so busy playing cards every single day at the casino there is no time for gaming in 4K. As for watching anything in 4K the tv doesn't have a stand for it yet so no go.

I am running a 32in 4k IPS monitor. Came from Dual 23in 1080p then 43in 4k to 34in ultrawide. Finalized on a 32in 4k. the 43in was nice but it had issues and sometimes it felt too big. sitting only 2ft away from that with an Autocad drawing full screen required a lot of head turning. For a main monitor 4K is where its at when said monitor is >32in. I do lust over having aux monitors flanking the sides to make it even more multitasking friendly. But one 32in is no slouch when it comes to multitasking just always want more because we can.

I've been running a 40" 4k AMH399U for the last 18 months. It's far from perfect, but omg Elite:Dangerous on this thing is amazing!

42" LG IPS here… Waiting for something special… 4k 120hz something

Model # and price please.

I’m looking to get a 4K tv for school work for the workflow. Youtuber Z reviewed a Samsung which looked cool for about 300, but it was discontinued and I can’t find it anywhere. What sucks is that they made it last year, it’s not as if it was a 5 year old tv.

If anyone knows of a tv with great blacks, color accuracy and color and grey uniformity for less then $400 shoot me a DM.
