Just started using Fast Sync Option under Nvidia Control Panel on my GTX 1060 pushed by an i5-4460 hooked to a Samsung KU6290 4k TV.
With every thing default on a fresh driver install I was getting random stuttering on games like GTA V and Insurgency.
I have not put a whole lot of time with this option selected but thought i would see what the community settings are.
not sure about here, but consensus around the net tends to be a resounding "meh"
4k tv
well I'm sorry to burst your bubble here but fast sync wont do shit in your case. Your TV likely has a very high response time, and even more input lag. 100ms+ (a typical montior for combined lag is 50ms orless)
Well appreciate input still testing it out but so far seems to reduce tearing i was seeing and stuttering but maybe placebo effect
Turn off all post processing effects that suppose to enhance picture quality for movies, you don't need that on PC games. and check if you have game mode.
Already on Game mode with everything turned off.
try using adaptive v-sync or just regular vsync.
Does adaptive drop frame rates to 30 if it dips below 60 for a bit?
no thats regular vsync.
adaptive turns vsync off when under 60fps,
