Alright so i have an 8800gts 320mb, and it gets pretty damn hot, but i don't know how hot. Rivatuner says 80c maximum, but EVGA precision gives me 90c, which i extremely afraid of (btw, this is after about 2 hours of using folding@home, which is basically maxing out the gpu, no games push it that hard.) according to rivatuner i idle at like 54-59c, but according to precision i idle at 61-65. Which should i trust? and are those temps dangerous? I have fine case airflow, 2 120's (intake, outtake) an 80mm on the side which blows tons of air, and a pci slot fan that sucks the hot air out.
i use cpuid hwmonitor to monitor the whole system. so far it shows the same gpu temps as speedfan and ati catalyst. so i guess it's accurate enough.
Can anybody just explain to me why programs just can't display a real temperature? is it because of how temperature probes work?
Using CPUID HWMonitor ....the CPU voltage isn't always accurate (at 1.14 when its 1.42 wtf?)
I do too, and it practically shows the same temps as the catalyst drivers. Mine idles at 42C with 60% on the fan speed. At load it about 50C give or take.
