Sorry for being brief but I got to be quick.
Im thinking about getting a pci card specifically this tplink
http://bit.ly/1gt0eua
I want to put this inside my pc with a asus m5a99fx mobo but have seen that the slots dont match up so want to know if this will fit in a pci or pcie slot however i want this in a sli system with 2 gtx 760s so want the dual slots on the two 16x speed pcie slots spare.
long story short will it fit and if so which slot?
no, you only have one pci slot and if you use it you will block any 3 bay gfx card you put in the last 16x slot. you might be able to get away with a 2 bay gfx card but i dunno.
so it will go into the standard pci slot?
if that Is the case then I have checked and I do have room for a second gpu just in the 8x slot and 16x slot for sli. I know there is a performance difference but will it work?
P.S thanks for the quick response
yes it will fit in the standard pci slot. it will work
why dont you just get a pci express version of the tplink then you'll have plenty of room and you can use the last pci express slot. but i think if you use that slot you kick the second sli pci express slot down to 8x
yes I have seen the pcie cards and to better explain myself I want a card that will fit in the very bottom slot to give me the sli space however the pcie cards seem to be a bit short will they fit? If so which ones would you reccommend for about £10-20.
Sorry for the questions. hope this is the last one ;)
after a bit of research I found that I can put a pcie wifi card in the bottom black slot that leaves me with the two blue 16x speed for my two 760s (asus direct cu2) so thanks for your help.
really love this forum.
