Which ram to purchase?

Hello I am building a pc revolving around fx 8350 and asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0, I was checking out Logan's fx8350 build but I am confused and torn about the ram choice he's made because it contradicts with some of the things I have heard from other sources, such as:

1) He recommended a 4x4gb ram setup, whereas some overclocking sites do say that a 4x4gb ram setup causes instabilities and results in lesser overclocks than a 2x8 gb ram setup. How much of a difference would it make, really?

2) If I go 2x8gb route I have basicly two choices of 1.5v ram in store where one is CL10 1866Mhz ripjawsx and the other is a cl9 1600Mhz ripjawsx which would you personally prefer. Logan mentioned in one of his FX 8350 videos that memory speed is more important than cas latency for gaming, would you agree?

3) Would you recommend 1.65v ram (or anything over 1.5v)

Thanks in advance

u need to learn this ,,more power means more heat ,,and also u will need to manually overclock the ram to 1866mhz  which will cause more.....

and i don't think that u will notice that much of a difference going from 1600mhz to 1866mhz in gaming

hope this helps:

thanks guys, but these don't answer whether 4x4 has a serious impact on overclockability

you're using amd... go 2x8gb, low cs and faster mem... if you jump to 1.65 than it should be for some very fast ram 2100+

running 2x4 or 4x4 isn't going to seriously dictacte your overclock and if it does it will be so minimal it doesn't really matter.

what does matter is 4x4 is more strenous to power than 2x8.
