I would like to build an all around PC. I'll be playing BF3, GTA IV and Far Cry 3. I'm hoping to play them on medium with good FPS. And also, I'm editing and rendering videos and editing some pictures too! (All of these are intel based)
1st Build.
Processor: Intel Pentium G2010 2.8 Ghz Dual Core
RAM: Kingston 4GB RAM (1x4) 1333mhz
Video Card: Palit Geforce GT 640 2GB DDR3
HDD: Western Digital 500GB 7200 RPM
Case: Rosewill Blackbone ATX Case w/ 600w Powersupply
2nd Build
Processor: Intel Pentium G630 2,7 Ghz Dual Core
RAM: Corsair Vengeance (1x4) 1333mhz
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5
HDD: Western Digital 500GB 7200RPM
Case: Dagger ATX Case w/ 600w Powersupply
Are you going to be putting this together or buying built? The 2nd build would be more usefull for the GDDR5 from the gpu.
What's your budget because looking at a Phenom II X4 965/955 Black is a good idea
Indeed, you may benefit from a Quad-Core CPU with the Nvidia; but what would really yield performance at that price point would be pairing the HD6670 GDDR5 with an AMD APU A8-5800K or the cheaper A8-5600K with the HD 6570 if you're in a budget pinch. That should give you performance at the low end for slim case HTPC builds for gaming. I've built one as an entry level system because they're so versatile, it's fun playing BF3 in the living room and then switching to netflix on your big screen.
