Which motherboard with an AMD FX-6300?

An AsRock 970 Extreme4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157262

Or

Asus M5A97 R.20: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131873

Or maybe a better board with a better value!

I do plan on overclocking.

Thanks in advance!

the Asus M5A97 R2.0 with 4+2 powerp hase is a good board for that cpu, you will be able to do some oc on the FX6300 95W cpu.

Unfortunatly on new egg they dont sell the Asus M5A97 EVO r2.0 (6+2 power phase) anymore, otherwise for oc that would be a better choice...

also the Gigabyte GA-970A-ud3 many people recommend that cause it has 8+2 power phase.. would be a good option for oc, as far as the numbers on the box tell, i personaly prefer asus over GB boards on amd platform.

ive got the Asus M5A97 evo 2.0 with FX8350 good combination, but i will replace that board next year to a  gen 3 990FX board. cause i want a 990fx board on my FX8350

I second Mistery. Go with the ASUS board - very good quality capacitors and a decent heatsink on the VRM are always nice to have.

Also, the power phase on the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 is 4+2 as Mistery mentioned, which is a slight improvement over the 4+1 of the ASRock.

The Gigabyte and Asus boards have been argued to death around here.

They have their advantages.  Either the GA UD3 of whatever chipset or the ASUS M5A (Also the UD5 from GIgabyte is a good thing... but more expensive)

You need to decide on Chipset primarily.  990FX will give you a better overclock, 970 will save you some cash.
