Hello all. I am simply going to ask which manufacturer to get my HD 7950.
There are a lot of options available to me and 2 that have caught my eye are the Sapphire HD7950 Vapour-X Boost and the Asus HD7950 Direct Cu II Top. I am going to be doing some overclocking so I am looking for something that can keep the card cold but I also want the quietest option as I don't like noise.
So I want to ask which one of these 2 cards is best in terms of cooling and noise or are there any other 7950's that are any better?
I would go for Asus HD7950 Direct Cu II Top
i would recomment the club 3D radeon Hd 7950 royalking
i could easily over clock it to a core clock of 1200mhz and a memory clock of 1575mhz
With the cards you have chosen, I'd prefer the ASUS. It has a really good cooler. I think the MSI Twin Frozr is worth considering. It's voltage unlocked.
Both of the cards you have mentioned are good, but I would also consider MSI. I really like my MSI 7870 with the Twin Frozr cooler.
so far ive narrowed it down to either the MSI Twin Frozr III and the Asus DirectCu II what is each card good at?
The Asus is great at looking sexy, being ektremely limited in overclocking, but staying cool and quiet, while the MSI is great at having a brown PCB, gorgeous cooler, fantastic overclocking, but a weaker cooler that can get quite loud.
how far can the Asus be overclocked to compared to the MSI
Well, the Asus is voltage locked, so it really depends on your card. With air cooling, though, you can't tell much of a difference, especilaly with the MSI's cooler.
I think ill go for the MSI
