Which is better?

I remember seeing a youtube video about the 8350 and the I5 3570k. I was thinking about the 6300 vs the Phenom II x6 1045t OC to the same clock speed.

If you take a look at the single and mutithreading benchmarks the 1100t is higher then the 6300.

Would you think the 1045t pull ahead since it has true cores?

Here is my benchmark from a different site, please excuse my sillyness from the image:

you'll be lucky to get the X6 past 4Ghz

5Ghz is reasonable for the 6300

TR:DR get the 6300

yeah the FX-6300 is better and Logan did say that the Phenom || x6 (i think it was 1150t) was slower than the Phenom || x4 965 in most things!

I have an fx 6300, and I can feel this speed compared to other PC's. I think this benchmarks show it properly. Probably the best mid-range choice you can make:

I don't understand how the 1100t does better in gaming, and my benchmarks show that the 1045t at a lower clock beats the 6300 at a higher clock. (Both overclocked)

because the fx 6300 is just an update, not a "revolution". You can see in your benches, that the fx 6300 is good in other things. Things that need more cores. Or it's equal, the fx 6300 is just a solid update.

So upgrade when they come out with a new series for the AM3+ socket?

i'd keep the chip you have and upgrade to the new steamroller AM3+ chips at the end of the year.

Your not realy going to see much of a performance increase jumping from the 1045t  overclocked to a FX6300 to justify it ...not when the new chips are comeing soon
