Which build(if ether)?

My bro's gaming laptop looks like its dead. Gonna try to convert him to a desktop user like a real man.

I guess also I could add the 760 from the 2nd build to the first too if need be.

If the titles your bro plays aren't all that cpu intensive then build 1 + a gtx760 would be my choice.

You can get away with a smaller psu >>> RM450, even a CX430 will suffice. Also a change to the NZXT Source 210 case would be my recommendation. HDD wise - the 1tb WD Black and Blue drives are on special at the moment, maybe grab one of them if you can.

+1 on WD Blue and Blacks.  The Hitachi Ultrastar line is low quality and has a high failure rate.

The second build looks nice.  However, try not to overclock or put an 8 core CPU in that biostar board due to a weak 4+1 power phase design.

Skyrim, and probably gonna get crysis 3 soon he says.

the 2nd one wouldn't be overclocked ever because of the crappy board, heck the first one may not even be since its a fairly low end board too, well maybe just the extra .2ghz to make it to 4, someone knows of a decent board that can handle it for cheap. I just got the after market cooler because I don't trust stock ones.

In that price range, not really.
